AU Bookkeeper

About the Role

As an Australian Bookkeeper, you’ll be responsible for the full charge bookkeeping process, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll management, and bank reconciliations. Additionally, you’ll play a crucial role in the preparation and submission of Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS) in compliance with Australian tax laws.

Ideal Candidate (Must Have Requirements)

  • A graduate of any 4 years course related to Accounting/Bookkeeping or Finance (CPA license is a plus)
  • With at least 1 year of solid Australian full-charge bookkeeping experience
  • With at least 1 year of solid experience in preparation of BAS/IAS and FS work papers (ATO lodgment experience is a plus)
  • With at least 1 year of solid experience using Xero Accounting software, MYOB and supplementary tools like Vend, Dext (Receipt Bank), etc. Xero certification is a plus
  • Employee work set-up will be dependent on the client’s discretion

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Preparation and lodgment of business activity statements (BAS), installment activity statements (IAS), and financial statements work papers
  • Update and review of balance sheet and P&L verification
  • Management of general ledgers
  • Reconciliation of bank, accounts payable, and account receivable
  • Reconciliation of GST and PAYG
  • Payroll preparation and superstream processing
  • Create and maintain workflow reports for assigned clients
  • Closely collaborate with the clients and the onshore team
