About the Role
The IT Manager is primarily responsible for the company’s computer systems, networks, security tools, hardware, software, and cloud computing operations for the Davao Site. This role involves creating IT strategies that support the company’s business goals and ensuring that the right technology is in place to help achieve them.
The IT Manager should have a strong technical background while also being able to lead, manage, and develop a team. This role works closely with the Philippine Head to develop strategies for the organisation.
Ideal Candidate (Must-Have Requirements)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT management
- BSc/BA in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant field; CISSP certification will be a plus
- Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks, programming language, and operating systems (ex, Active Directory)
- Experience in the analysis, implementation, and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications
- Highly developed leadership skills and knows what brings out the best in people
- Experience in controlling information technology budget
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to a fast-paced business
- Mature disposition in appropriately managing sensitive situations
- Ability to focus on small things while linking them to the big picture
- Combined analytical and methodical thinking
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Overall management of technical operations, including management of a diverse team of IT professionals for the Davao Site
- Strive to reach several relevant business targets and report progress to the Philippine Head
- Manage effective security measures to minimise risks to security
- Increase end-user satisfaction levels by constantly improving relevant applications
- Liaise with division heads, system users, and other stakeholders to ensure maximum effectiveness of IT operations
- Ensure that the company has a suitable disaster recovery policy, adequate contingency plans, and maintains data backups
- Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies
- Analyse the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies, hardware, and software that are suitable for the company’s requirements
- Recommend and purchase efficient and cost-effective technological equipment and software
- Identify necessary upgrades, configurations, or new systems and report cost-benefit analyses to the Philippine Head
- Control IT budget and report on expenditure
- Plan and lead system upgrades and or migrations
- Track and maintain hardware and software inventory
- Manage the availability of IT equipment and ensure the use of economical but durable and competitive brands
- Create and submit quarterly equipment forecasts to the Philippine Head
- Foster good partnerships with vendors and create cost-efficient contracts

Most clients follow standard business days (Monday to Friday), so VAP follows a weekend rest day schedule.
You’ll follow your client’s AU public holidays. This means you’ll work on PH holidays but with PH holiday premium pay.
Holiday Break: We offer a 2-week paid holiday break from Christmas to New Year. If your client requests you to work during this time and you agree, you’ll receive Rest Day overtime pay.
Yes, we provide both vacation and sick leave. Vacation leave is not convertible to cash, as we encourage work-life balance and want our staff to enjoy their time off. Unused vacation leave carries over to the next year.
We offer sign-on bonuses occasionally, depending on the role. Yes, these are taxable.
