About the Role
The Australian Precast Estimator performs detailed takeoffs of precast panels, columns, and architectural features, identifies connection details, annotates drawings using Bluebeam, and maintains accurate Excel records to support the in-house estimating team on Victorian market projects.
Ideal Candidate (Must-Have Requirements)
- Proven experience with Australian precast concrete takeoffs or estimating
- Strong understanding of Victorian building codes, connection standards, and structural design practices
- Knowledge of precast element connections (slabs, structural steel, other building components)
- Proficiency with Bluebeam for measurement, annotation, and drawing markups
- Ability to read and interpret complex structural and architectural drawings
- Strong Excel skills for takeoff data entry and documentation
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to work independently
- Preferably with some background in construction estimating or quantity surveying
- Experience with architectural precast finishes and features is an advantage
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Perform detailed takeoffs of precast elements, including panels, columns, and architectural features
- Measure and document all precast components using Bluebeam
- Number elevations and panels systematically on drawings
- Annotate drawings with connection details and architectural finishes
- Input takeoff data accurately into Excel spreadsheets, following the company format
- Maintain organised records of all measurements and specifications
- Review work for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to standards
- Develop proficiency with company systems to work independently over time
