About the Role
As a Cloud Engineer, you will own and improve the company’s AWS infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and observability stack. Your focus will be on enabling fast, secure, and reliable deployments while improving developer experience, cloud performance, and operational efficiency within a fintech environment.
Ideal Candidate (Must-Have Requirements)
- Strong experience in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or SRE environments
- Hands-on experience managing AWS infrastructure and cloud services
- Strong knowledge of Terraform, CloudFormation, or Infrastructure as Code tools
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with AWS services such as EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS, S3, IAM, and VPC
- Strong understanding of cloud security, monitoring, and observability practices
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry
- Strong scripting, automation, and troubleshooting skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
- Preferably with software development exposure in PHP, Python, or TypeScript
- Preferably with experience in fintech, regulated environments, or data platforms
- Amenable to working onsite in our Cebu Site (IT Park, Cebu City)
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Design and maintain secure, scalable AWS cloud infrastructure
- Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows
- Implement cloud security guardrails and DevSecOps practices
- Manage multiple AWS account environments and improve system performance
- Implement monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting solutions
- Automate repetitive infrastructure and operational tasks
- Support vulnerability management and automated patching processes
- Maintain documentation, standards, and cloud best practices
- Collaborate with engineering teams to improve deployment velocity and reliability

Most of our clients are in Australia, so most roles follow a PH time day shift work schedule.
Most clients follow standard business days (Monday to Friday), so VAP follows a weekend rest day schedule.
You’ll follow your client’s AU public holidays. This means you’ll work on PH holidays but with PH holiday premium pay.
Holiday Break: We offer a 2-week paid holiday break from Christmas to New Year. If your client requests you to work during this time and you agree, you’ll receive Rest Day overtime pay.
Yes, we provide both vacation and sick leave. Vacation leave is not convertible to cash, as we encourage work-life balance and want our staff to enjoy their time off. Unused vacation leave carries over to the next year.
We offer sign-on bonuses occasionally, depending on the role. Yes, these are taxable.
Salary packages depend on your skills, background, and relevant work experience aligned with the role.
