Payroll Assistant

About the Role

As a Payroll Assistant, you will support payroll processing, maintain employee records, and assist in ensuring compliance with statutory and company requirements.

Ideal Candidate (Must-Have Requirements)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience supporting payroll processing, HR, or administrative functions
  • Basic understanding of payroll calculations, statutory deductions, and compliance requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with payroll or HR systems
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling payroll data
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Preferably with exposure to government contributions, tax filings, or payroll reporting
  • Eager to learn and develop skills in payroll and HR processes

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Assist in processing payroll, including data entry for salaries, deductions, and adjustments
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records and documentation
  • Support compliance with statutory requirements such as taxes and government contributions
  • Monitor attendance, leaves, and overtime for payroll inputs
  • Assist in resolving payroll-related queries and discrepancies
  • Prepare payroll reports and support audits when required
  • Coordinate with HR and Finance teams for payroll data and updates
  • Support the continuous improvement of payroll processes and documentation
