Australian Cost Estimator

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Cost Estimator & Internal Support professional to support our Australian estimating team from the Philippines. Your primary focus will be preparing accurate quantity take-offs, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and cost estimates for Australian construction projects while supporting tender preparation, procurement, supplier coordination, and project administration.

This role plays a key part in delivering accurate, competitive tenders while ensuring estimating documentation, purchasing activities, and internal project support are managed efficiently.

Ideal Candidate (Must-Have Requirements)

  • Solid experience preparing quantity take-offs, BOQs, and construction cost estimates
  • Experience supporting Australian construction projects
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, estimating principles, materials, and procurement processes
  • Experience preparing material schedules, cost estimates, and subcontractor quotations
  • Experience coordinating suppliers, subcontractors, and purchasing activities
  • Exposure to retail fit-outs, shopfitting, commercial interiors, joinery, or custom cabinetry
  • Familiarity with finishes schedules and hardware schedules
  • Proficiency in Cubit, Microsoft Excel, and/or similar estimating software
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tender deadlines and priorities
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with internal stakeholders
  • Experience supporting project coordination, construction administration, or factory operations is highly regarded
  • Exposure to inventory management, website updates, or social media administration is an advantage

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate quantity take-offs, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), material schedules, and cost estimates from construction drawings
  • Review plans, specifications, finish schedules, hardware schedules, and tender documentation
  • Support the Australian estimating team in preparing accurate and competitive tender submissions
  • Source, obtain, and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations
  • Prepare and organise estimating documentation, pricing information, and procurement records
  • Maintain estimating records, project files, supplier databases, pricing schedules, and tender registers
  • Assist with purchasing materials and coordinating suppliers and subcontractors
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely tender submissions and smooth project delivery
  • Support project coordinators with logistics, delivery schedules, and project administration
  • Monitor project costs and compare actual costs against estimates to improve future pricing accuracy
  • Maintain warehouse records, inventory, and tool registers as required
  • Assist with management documentation, internal procedures, and process improvements
  • Update the company website and social media with approved project content when required
  • Provide general administrative support, supplier coordination, and reception duties as needed
