Australian Accountant - MYOB

About the Role

We are looking for an Australian Accountant to support our client's onshore team with tax returns, BAS preparation, and accounting tasks for B, C, and D-grade clients. This role focuses on accurate execution, process compliance, and dependable accounting support.

Ideal Candidate (Must-Have Requirements)

  • Experience in Australian tax and accounting
  • Strong knowledge of AU tax compliance and BAS preparation
  • Proficiency in MYOB
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience handling individual and small business tax returns
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to follow documented accounting processes independently
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Preferably with exposure to B, C, and D-grade accounting files
  • Comfortable working with historical working papers and source documents

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Prepare individual and business tax returns
  • Prepare and lodge BAS accurately and on time
  • Follow established accounting processes and working paper templates
  • Review prior year files and supporting documents for reference
  • Prepare Excel schedules and supporting documents
  • Maintain accurate records within MYOB and related systems
  • Support the onshore team with accounting and admin tasks
  • Ensure all work is accurate, complete, and compliant
