AU Tax Accountant

About the Role

An Australian Tax Accountant combines excellent analytical skills with thorough knowledge of Australian taxation, GST, and Xero to analyze financial reports and forecasts, collaborates with a team of accountants and junior accountants, and ensures accuracy and effectiveness in all accounting tasks.

Ideal Candidate (must have requirements)

• Graduate of Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Accountancy preferred
• At least 2 - 3 years doing Australian Accounting
• Solid knowledge and experience in Australian Taxation and GST
• Heavy exposure to Xero or other accounting software
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English
• Ability to work independently, but also coordinate effectively as part of a team
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to a fast-paced business
• Strong analytical and organizational skills

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Preparation and Lodgement of Financial Statements, Tax Returns, and BAS/IAS for Individuals, Partnerships, SMSF Sole Traders, Companies and Trusts
• Preparing work papers, management accounting, budgeting and cash flow statements
• Review distribution calculations, superannuation fund tax calculations and tax returns.
• Assist in consolidation and accurate and timely delivery of tax reporting deliverables.
• Management of ATO reporting and liaising with various statutory authorities on behalf of clients including the ATO and ASIC.
• Fostering and maintaining client relationships.
